Evil Steve Jobs is Running Apple
Has someone replaced Steve Jobs with his evil twin from a parallel dimesion? Sure I've had a few issues with Apple in the past but overall I saw them as a very customer friendly company.
Take iTunes DRM. Any DRM is defective by design but Apple had the most sensible policies of the major companies. There were third party programs to strip the DRM and Apple never went crazy trying to stop them.
Aside from a few hiccups with different versions of iTunes I was pretty happy. I've had at least a dozen different Macs, all the iPods from 1G to 5G, and bought a decent amount of music on iTunes. I recommended Macs and iPods to all my friends and most of them ended up switching from Windows. I had a popular blog on the Mac mini, I even organized a Tiger launch party. I was the perfect Apple customer.
Not any more. I'll never buy the iPhone, another iPod, or a Mac. Screw Apple. Why? They have made several mistakes this month that I can't forgive.
1. Bricking iPhones
2. Bricking BootCamp
3. iPod Classic is Slow
There are some other things that ticked me off like charging more for DRM free songs on iTunes, not updating the Mac mini for months, suing bloggers that leaked news, and the fact my 5G iPod screen looks like I took it into a war zone.
I could have gotten over all of that but not anymore.
I'm never going to buy another Apple product, or any music from iTunes. I'm going to try Amazon's DRM free MP3s, I'm running Ubuntu on my PC notebook, and I can't wait for the gPhone!
