My Economics Part 1
People have asked me what my politics are after reading my blog posts about corporate welfare and the way the middle class is getting screwed.
It's more relevant to talk about my economics. As a matter of fact it would be far more useful to have our politicians let us know what their economics are than their political party.
I am and have been a capitalist. And by this I mean I employed people in a for profit business. At the height of the company I had 30+ employees and over time I employed almost 100.
I was happy to be able to give better jobs to my employees (many of whom where my friends) than they had or might have gotten in the market. I tried to see people's potential rather than their resume. And it served me well. They company lasted for eight years and was always in the black.
I did have to lay people off when work dropped off and I hated it. There where also a lot of problems the employees had with the way the company was run. And they where right. I was inexperienced and made a lot of mistakes.
I didn't make a fortune but it was a great experience and I hope helpful to all the people that worked for me.
I'm going to elaborate on my economics in further posts. In the meantime know that I'm not a communist and I don't hate all wealthy people. Well maybe some of them.
